WARDROBE EDITING

Your personal style starts with your own closet. A unique style exists for every person and a great start to a winning wardrobe is in every closet. The Personal Vogue team will work with clients in their homes to review current wardrobe inventory. The team will educate clients on how to make decisions on clothes, accessories and colors that best fit the body shape and defined style. The team will also assess closet organization and make suggestions to improve efficiencies for assembling outfits and getting dressed more quickly and confidently.

The Wardrobe Editing process includes:

  • Review of the desired outcomes for the session.
  • Evaluate the body type. What is the defined style? What styles would best fit the silhouette? After the review, a personalized chart will be provided that best describes what clothing styles, fabrics, patterns and accessories would maximize the style impact.
  • Assess the closet. How is it organized? Is it efficient? What can be done to improve efficiencies?
  • Conduct a wardrobe edit. We will separate the clothes into four categories:
    1. great style and great fit!
    2. alterations or updating needed.
    3. appropriate for inside wear or recreation.
    4. outdated or poor fit: may be charity donation.
  • Review of the clothing preferences—What is worn frequently and why? What is not? Are there size differentials? If so, what should be done to ensure proper fit?
  • Develop Wardrobe Essentials. The team may suggest rebuilding pieces or additions to enhance the personal style. The Wardrobe Essentials process will help design a focused shopping plan to eliminate directionless purchases and to assist in saving time and money while shopping.
  • Appraise the accessories and colors. What is lacking? What is abundant? What is outdated? What needs to be supplemented?
  • A dialogue on how to mix classic items with modern pieces for a complete and finished look. As the wardrobe expands you can be more selective about adding new items. The team will encourage “reality dressing” for who you are today, not for who you were yesterday, or to imitate a celebrity or someone else’s style.
  • To HAVE FUN!!!!
